The Digital Polska Project Center has completed the call for proposals in the “Cyberse -Service Government” grant competition; The value of submitted projects exceeded PLN 276 million – the Ministry of Digitization said on Friday. The program is to improve the digital security of central offices and public institutions.

The department of digitization reminded that the “Cyberd Government” project was created in response to the growing threat of cyber attacks, which Poland has been faceing since February 2022, i.e. from the beginning of the full -frame invasion of Russia to Ukraine. MC emphasized that attacks are particularly directed at the most important state organs, including ministries and other government administration units.
The ministry pointed out in a statement that according to the data of the CSIRT GOV computer security reaction team, operating at the head of the Internal Security Agency, only in 2023 over 43,000 ICT incidents were recorded; The project “Cyber -secure government” is to increase the state's resistance to this type of attacks.
The project, as reported by the ministry, covers activities in three areas: organizational, competence and technological. In the organizational scope, it is planned to review and update, and where it is necessary – the implementation of information security management systems. Audits of such systems have also been planned. In turn, training for employees of central administration bodies and public bodies is provided for competence. The trainings will apply to cybersecurity and include, among others, simulated cyber attacks on network users and information systems in the organization (for example, so -called phishing).
The third component, technological, assumes support for the purchase and implementation of ICT systems, including devices, software and services that serve to prevent, detection and reaction to cyber security threats.
“Thanks to these investments, the administration will gain specific tools for building resistance to network threat. It's not only a matter of technology – clear standards, good management and practical skills are needed. We focus on solutions that will actually improve the quality of work of offices and the security of citizens” – emphasized Deputy Minister of Digitization Paweł Olszewski.
By 31 March 2025, 53 applicants joined the competition. The value of submitted projects amounted to over PLN 276.6 million, which means the implementation of allocation of over 79 percent. The funds can be obtained: 13 ministries (PLN 58.6 million), 21 central offices (PLN 94 million), 16 voivodship offices (PLN 112.9 million), Police Headquarters (PLN 10 million), State Protection Service (PLN 930 thousand) and Voivodship Veterinary Inspectorate in Gdańsk (PLN 116,000).
The ministry emphasized that currently at the Digital Poland Center, the digital evaluation is underway. After its completion, a ranking list of projects that will receive support will be published. Then it is planned to sign grant agreements. Until August 2026 was planned for the implementation of the projects.
The ministry stated that thanks to grants granted, applicants will be able to implement modern IT security, it is better to protect citizens 'data, increase the level of employees' knowledge in the field of cyber security and modernize technical and IT infrastructure.
“Cybersecurity is today an element of modern national defense. Attacks on state infrastructure are happening every day, and their effects can paralyze institutions and threaten citizens. We cannot act only when something happens. This program is concrete: tools, people, systems – so that the state works efficiently and is cyber -resistant” – summed up the deputy prime minister and minister of digitization. (PAP)
