Nintendo presented the Switch 2 game console a few days ago, but the company will postpone the opening of pre -orders in the US, due to concerns about the impact of global customs taxes instituted by the US President Donald Trump, writes Bloomberg.
Pre -orders had to start on April 9, but they will start later, said a Nintendo spokesman who invokes the need to “evaluate the potential impact of taxes and conditions on a changing market.”
The publications The Verge and CNBC also reported on this delay.
Nintendo said that the launch date remains unchanged – June 5, 2025, when Switch 2 will be put up for sale in the US at $ 450. The company did not communicate a new date for opening pre -orders.
Switch 2 was presented fixed on the day that Trump announced new global customs fees, including a 24% for Japan products and 46% for Vietnam, the country where Nintendo has moved much of the production.
The postponement is applied only in the US, and in other countries the plans do not change.
Nintendo had announced that Switch 2 would cost $ 449, and the package with Mario Kart World will be available for $ 499. The Mario Kart World's game will cost $ 79.99.
