In the summer of 2024, Scotmini Scott Mctminay left Manchester United, the club to which he had legitimized since 2002, to respond to the Napoli offer.
It was a radical change for an ordinary footballer with life and football in England. He represents Scotland at the level of seniors, but was born in Lancaster, a city in the North-West region of England.
7 months after moving to Naples, Mctminay speaks superlatively about the city of southern Italy, especially about the food he enjoys there. Like the countryman Billy Gilmour, he hired a private cook.

Scott Mctminay, the British departed to win the title in Italy: “Here the tomatoes even taste of tomatoes! Home were red water”
“God, the tomatoes! I never eat them at home. They are red water. Here they taste like tomatoes!
Now I eat them as a snack. I eat all the vegetables, all the fruits. They are all so fresh. It's incredible!“Says Mctminay in an interview with The Athletic.
In parallel, Antonio's midfielder counts the Italian language lessons: “I have always wanted to learn a foreign language. It is great to do this. And it is important for people to see that we adopt their culture. The city is amazing, completely different [de ce știam]. We must show that we care about the city, culture, besides our game. ”
When asked about the level of Serie A compared to the Premier League, where he represented Manchester United in 178 matches, Mctinay warns:
“People need to be careful when they say that Italy and Spain are not at the same level as the Premier League. Physically and tactically, here I had some of my most difficult matches”.
Naples ranks 2nd in series A, with 64 points accumulated in the first 30 stages. The Inter leader has 3 extra points, the difference that the Napolitans want to recover in the last 8 stages.
