British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said people have the right to demonstrate peacefully, but condemned the police attacks and stressed that his country was built on tolerance and diversity, Agerpres conveyed by AGERPRES, the day after a rally demonstration brought together over 110,000 people.
The right to manifest peacefully “is a fundamental element of the values of our country”, wrote Starmer on the X platform, in its first reaction to the demonstration organized by the right -wing activist Tommy Robinson.

“However, we will not tolerate the aggressions against the police officers who exercise their activity, nor the people feel intimidated on our streets because of the color of the skin or their origin,” added the head of the British executive.
At least 25 people were arrested and 26 police officers were injured – of which four serious – at the protest organized on Saturday by the far -right activist Tommy Robinson and entitled “United Kingdom”, the Metropolitan Police announced.
The officers faced a series of physical and verbal abuses from the demonstrators who wanted to break the cords from the London protests. At the same time, approximately 5,000 anti -rimism activists organized a counterprotest.
Both events started largely without incident, but the violence later broke out in the protest, attended by Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla and Platform X.
