A landslide in western Norway destroyed a portion of highway on Saturday and several meters of railway, causing the death of a person, the authorities announced, AFP, taken over by Agerpres.
A huge pit crosses the two meanings of the E6 highway and the railway that is along the road in Levanger, where the landslide occurred, according to images broadcast by the Norwegian media.
A Danish who was working on the spot, disappeared, is considered dead, the police in the Trondelag district announced in a statement. Two houses close to the place of landslide were evacuated.
The public company in charge of managing the infrastructure of the Norwegian railways carried out works to stabilize the soil along the railway, the company for the NRK television channel said.
It is, however, too early to assert that these works have caused the land slip, according to the group. In this place the soil is largely formed by clay, which can cause such phenomena, according to experts cited by the TNB news agency.
It is not for the first time that a landslide destroys portions of the E6 highway. A similar incident took place in Ringerbu in September 2024.

The E6 highway will be closed for several days, according to the Norwegian road administration.
