A Neamț commune with 2,900 inhabitants registers a deficit of 300,000 euros. The employees of the City Hall went on strike

The town hall of a commune in Neamț County reported, last year, a minus of about 300,000 euros, while the staff expenses reached 800,000 euros. Now the employees have gone on against the reorganization measures in the second package.

Tarcău commune, from Neamț county, has a population of 2,900 inhabitants. According to the organizational chart, 37 people are employed at the town hall.
The budget projection of the City Hall for 2024 shows revenues of 5,900,000 lei, but the expenses were estimated at 7,700,000 lei. It results in a deficit of 1,800,000 them.
And the cheats with the 37 employees in the town hall were estimated at 4,100,000 lei, ie over 800,000 euros. Specifically, the mayor Dănuț Fîrțală had, in 2023 a salary of almost 8,000 net lei, and the rest of the employees had gross salaries starting from 6,000 lei in the case of a museographer, up to over 9,000 lei in the case of counselors. But they still receive bonuses, such as that of hard working conditions.
In 5 years, the salary budget increased by 1,300,000 lei, according to Newsweek. Moreover, the City Hall had a deficit of 4,000,000 lei in 2020, 11,000,000 lei in 2021 and 7,000,000 lei in 2022.
However, the employees of the City Hall entered on Friday, August 29, in the unlimited term strike, following the reorganization measures announced by the executive led by Ilie Bolojan.
“With an average of 9.78 civil servants per communal town hall, their number will be reduced brutally by another 25%, after the 10%decrease from last year. While reducing the personnel at central level, promised to be 20%, it will raise, at the level of the communes each third employee must leave, although they are the worst paid”.supports the national union of the employees of the communes and cities in Romania (score).
