The Israeli forces on Sunday made hits on Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, as a respondent on rockets and drones launched by Houthi rebels, and the Houthi press -controlled press claims that Israeli attack has killed at least two people, Reuters reports.

Israeli strokes are just the latest in a series of direct attacks and responses that have been taking place for over a year between Israel and the Houthi militants in Yemen, part of the consequences caused by the war in the Gaza strip.

The Israeli army says that among the targets of the Sunday attack were a military complex that hosts the Presidential Palace, two power plants and a fuel warehouse. The Saba news agency, controlled by Houthi, said the attacks killed at least two people.

“IDF (Israeli defense forces) destroyed the Presidential Palace of Houthi rebels in Yemen and attacked fuel deposits and power plants,” said Israeli Katz minister, quoted in a common press release with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to EFE.

Netanyahu said that the Pro-Iran group “is about to learn on the hardest path” which are the consequences of the attacks on Israel.

“Who attacks us, we attack him. Anyone who plans to attack us, attack him. I think the whole region learns how strong the hands and decision of the state of Israel are,” said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Two people killed and 35 injured

In addition to the two people killed, in the attacks on Sunday on Sanaa, the capital of Yemenite that Houthi has been controlling since 2014, 35 other people were injured.

“The attacks were made in response to the repeated attacks of the Houthi terrorist regime against the state of Israel and its civilians, including the land of soil rockets and drones to the Israeli territory of recent days,” IDF said in a statement.

On Friday, the Houthi movement announced that it has announced that it has launched a ballistic missile on Israel, an action they said they had in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. An official of the Israeli air forces said on Sunday that the rocket most likely transports several submunities “meant to be detonated.”

“This is the first time this type of rocket is launched from Yemen,” the official said.

The Houthi Movement “will not abandon its brothers from Gaza”

After the war between Israel and the Palestinian group of Hamas in October 2023 broke out, the Houthi rebels aligned to Iran attacked ships in the Red Sea, as described as acts of solidarity with Palestinians.

They also frequently launched rockets to Israel, most of them intercepted. Israel has responded with attacks on the areas of Yemen controlled by Houthi, including the Hodeidah Vital port.

Abdul Qader Al-Murtada, a high-ranking Houthi official, said on Sunday that Houthii, who controls a large part of the population of Yemen, will continue to act in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

“(Israel) must know that he will not abandon his brothers in Gaza

regardless of sacrifices, ”he wrote in a post on X.
