In Russia, a new list of mandatory school subjects was approved

The Ministry of Education of Russia has developed a list of 17 compulsory items for schools for the 2026/27 academic year. It is reported by TASS.
The list includes physics, biology, chemistry, geography, Russian, literature, foreign language, history, social studies, mathematics, computer science, music, visual arts, labor (technology), physical education, as well as the “Fundamentals of the Safety and Protection of the Homeland” and “Spiritual and Moral Culture of Russia”. These subjects should be taught in all state accreditation of educational organizations.
The subject “Mathematics” includes the modules “probability and statistics”, “algebra” and “geometry”, and in “history” – “universal history”, “history of Russia” and “history of our region”.
Also, at the request of parents, in schools such items as a second foreign language, native language and native literature can be introduced.
