The well -known basketball coach Petre Măgurean is dead! Saturday would have turned 68

Born in Bistrița, Măgurean came from adolescence to Iasi, playing for a long time. Called to a few actions of the national team, he became a coach after abandoning the player's career.
With intermittent, he has worked, starting with 1995 for almost two decades at Polytechnic, preparing especially the team of boys. In 1998, Măgurean was the “second” of Dragan Petricevic in a season in which the men's team of Iasi won the bronze medals.

He was also deputy director of the County Directorate for Youth and Sport Vrancea and had a children's basketball club in Iași, where he lived almost all his life.

If the club where Măgurean worked almost the whole career, CS Politehnica, had no reaction until this time, the Romanian Basketball Federation transmitted in the morning, when the death news appeared:
Petre Măgurean, former player, coach and commissioner of the Romanian Basketball Federation, left. Although he was born in Bistrița, Măgurean's career was largely linked to the city of Iași, where he played and, later, he was part of the technical staff of the Politehnica Moldrom team that conquered the bronze medals in Division A (current LNBM) in the 1997-1998 season. As a coach, Petre Măgurean represented the colors of the Iasi Polytechnic between 1995 and 2003, working on both the men and the female team. The Romanian Basketball Federation addresses sincere condolences to the bereaved family, as well as to the close ones. Rest in peace!
