U.S. Military Casualties Rise to 17 Following Latest Action

The U.S. Army has confirmed that another soldier has been killed in action during a controlled detonation of an Iranian drone that had been shot down. This incident occurred just one day after the Pentagon announced the deaths of two soldiers in Jordan.
The soldier from northern Iraq was killed on July 18 while attempting to safely detonate unexploded munitions from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. A second soldier sustained a minor injury and is receiving medical treatment, according to a social media post from CENTCOM.
CENTCOM also reported the discovery of unidentified remains in Jordan after a soldier had been declared missing during the mission.
This latest death brings the total number of U.S. military personnel who have lost their lives in this ongoing conflict, which has lasted nearly five months, to 17.
