Russian Railways began to show places in the wagon on which passengers with pets travel

“Russian railways” when designing a ticket began to show places in the carriage, which were purchased by passengers with pets. Previously, only information was displayed whether or not the transport of animals in the carriage was allowed – the “paw” icon.

Now, when issuing a ticket on the site or in the web application of Russian Railways, passengers will be able to see and choose a place next to the pet-or away from it, they told the company. In the future they plan to add an option to a mobile application.

In the carriage diagram, such places are marked in dark gray. When hovering the cursor to the place, the user will be able to see which animal is taken and on what route. The Russian Railways noted that the passenger can be carried out even on the day of the trip, so the information on the scheme may change up to the departure of the train.

In May 2024, Russian Railways added the opportunity to indicate the type, description and nickname of the pet when applying for a ticket so that the wagon conductor knew about the transportation of a particular animal. Prior to this, the company forbade the guides to arbitrarily land animals from trains.
