There are several reasons for cracking of grapes berries:

  • violation of the soil moisture mode;
  • improper nutrition during the period of pouring and ripening (the elasticity of the peel largely depends on the presence of phosphorus in the diet, strength – on its thickness, which is reduced under conditions of potassium deficiency);
  • varietal characteristics of grapes;
  • diseases (in particular, Oidium).

You can not leave the cracked berries on Grozhes: in addition to attracting the OS, they will begin to rot, the rot will spread to neighboring berries, up to the complete loss of the crop. Damaged berries should be removed with scissors with stupid tips.

In the case of cracking of berries in order to avoid vineyard diseases, it is advisable, provided that the degree of cracking is cut with scissors, damaged berries, and in the case of severe cracking, cut off damaged clusters with subsequent preventive treatment with biofungicides and fuel -nuclear feeding by a complex of microelements.

If the number of damaged berries is not more than a third, then in a small vineyard you can cut such berries without problems. And if the vineyard is great and the more than a third of the berries are cracked or the variety is not very valuable, it is advisable to cut off the damaged clusters completely.
