The Minister of Investments and European Projects, Dragoş Pîslaru, will activate the European Restore mechanism, created especially for cases of major natural disasters, in the context of floods in Suceava and Neamt, which will allow, according to the dignitary, the rapid allocation of millions of European money to the affected areas, Agerpres informs.

“I will activate the European Restore mechanism, created especially for cases of major natural disasters (floods, fires or storms). It is for the first time that this tool will be used in Romania and it will allow us to relocate millions of euros to the European money to support the restoration of infrastructure, housing and small entrepreneurs in the area,” he announced on the Facebook.

At the same time, he stated that the Government will activate the Solidarity Fund of the European Union, by which Romania can access hundreds of millions of euros for the reconstruction of the area, but this money will only arrive in a few months, the process being a lasting one.

Dragoş Pîslaru also announced a new help package that will be approved in the Government in the next period, after completing the assessment of the damages.

The Minister of European Projects recalled that the Government immediately allocated amounts of up to 30,000 lei per family and all the necessary number of intervention and help, from doctors and firefighters, to ambulances and helicopters were dislocated.

“We will ensure that the material damage will be remedied and the reconstruction of the area will start immediately. Both souls and professionally, I was from the first moment and I will continue with the hard-tried families in these areas. Finally, I want to thank the true heroes of the day-the rescuers and volunteers who have intervened in the field,”

He accused, however, that there were people who “climbed the boots” on the suffering of people to earn electoral capital.

“How not to help with anything in the flood disaster in Neamt and Suceava: gather some clans of interlopers; call on television to film you; enter the lives on Tiktok to see you dirty sludge fans; you climb the pain and suffering of people just-you can win,”
