In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the police helped a pensioner from Zelenogorsk return the stolen fraudulent way 1 million 390 thousand rubles.

The 67-year-old woman said that in the spring she was called the acquaintance of her son, who was in places of imprisonment, and suggested assisting in his liberation. For reducing the term of imprisonment, he first asked for 650 thousand rubles, and then another 740 thousand rubles. The pensioner believed and transferred both amounts to the bank card account. However, then she found out that the agreements were not executed, and the money was spent.

Realizing that she was deceived, the woman turned to law enforcement officers who opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud” was detained on suspicion of a crime of a previously convicted 38-year-old resident of Abakan.

“The attacker fully reimbursed the damage, police officers returned the money stolen from her,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
