The clinic in the capital of Peru, Lima, must pay the equivalent of almost 190 thousand. dollars punishment for disclosing information about the state of health of the Colombian singer Shakira, when in February she was her patient – the Peruvian authorities announced on Wednesday.
The decision to impose a financial penalty on the Delgado-Win clinic in Lima was made by the Peruvian Susalud Health Service Supervision Office, subject to the Ministry of Health. The fine will be almost 670 thousand. Salt (approx. USD 188,000) – the media donated.
Shakira went to a clinic with severe abdominal pain a few hours after arriving in Lima, where she went as part of the concert tour. Soon, information about her state of health leaked into social networks. Finally, due to health problems, the artist canceled one of two planned performances in Lima.
After a five -month investigation, Susalud decided that the clinic had had a serious violation of the provisions in force in Peru, disseminating private information without the consent of the Colombian.
“Every person using medical services, regardless of nationality, insurance and the type of institution, has the right to treat with respect for their dignity and privacy,” it was written in a message published by the Office.
