The number of deadly victims of the flood, which hit Texas on Friday, increased to 27 – local authorities informed on Saturday. There are at least nine children among the victims. US President Donald Trump emphasized that he and his wife Melania pray for all the families affected by the tragedy.

Trump informed that in connection with the tragic flood in the place, the Minister of National Security Kristi Noem would soon be able to.

“Together with Melania, we pray for all families affected by this terrible tragedy. Our brave rescuers are in place and do what they can do the best. God, bless families and God, bless Texas,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Among the victims of the flood are children who were at the Christian Girls camp Camp Mystic in Hunt, Kerr, Texas. At night from Friday to Saturday, the Sheriff of the Ferrian Kerr Larry Leith informed that 23 to 25 campers were lost. On Saturday, Fox News informed about finding the bodies of two girls.

The camp was near the Guadalupe River, which on Friday left the banks due to heavy rainfall. There were about 750 people at Camp Mystic, some of them were evacuated by helicopters.

At the Camp Mystic camp in Texas, there were 24 participants of the Camp America cultural exchange from Poland. Everyone is all and healthy – a representative of the Camp America program informed PAP on Saturday. The number of deadly victims in Texas is 27, over 20 people are missing.

“We confirm that Polish participants of the Camp America program stayed at Camp Mystic in Texas and that everyone is all and healthy. We are in constant contact with them, and our representatives are in place” – the Camp America Service Office passed on PAP.

Camp Mystic is a Christian camp for girls in Hunt, Kerr, Texas, through which a flood wave passed on Friday. The camp was near the Guadalupe River, which rapidly appeared from the banks due to heavy rainfall. About 750 people took part in it, some of them were evacuated by helicopters.

On Saturday, the authorities in Texas informed that the number of deadly victims of the flood increased to 27. Among them are children who were at Camp Mystic.

The Camp Mystic camp was founded almost a hundred years ago. With the exception of World War II, it took place every summer from 1926. Participants could learn from it, among others archery, canoeing or horse riding.
