Great power failure in the Czech Republic. The prime minister reveals the cause


Full restoration of power supply to all consumers is expected on Friday. After the failure, which occurred at noon, at 17.30 All parts of the railway infrastructure already had electricity, but the disturbances in trains are ongoing. Minister of Transport Martin Kupka estimated that they should be removed in the evening and at night.

Among the critical infrastructure plants, the current disturbed the continuous functioning of the refinery in Litvinów belonging to Orlen Unipetrol. The production was suspended, and the raw material, also the partly converted and inside the plant's installation, had to be burned.

As a result, a very thick, black smoke is visible at a distance of about 20 km from Litvinov. Flames over high refinery chimneys are also visible. The company announced that there is no threat to local residents, and full restoration of production is to take several days.
