Sausages, sausages, bacon, ham, sweet soda and store-bought juices with sugar may increase the risk of developing cancer. Nutritionist, associate professor of the Department of Physical Culture of the State University of Medicine Irina Merkulova told Lenta.ru about this.

According to the expert, special attention should be paid to processed meat.

“Processed meats such as sausages, sausages, bacon and ham are Group One carcinogens. Every 50 grams of such meat per day increases the risk of colon cancer by 18 percent,” Merkulova said.

The nutritionist also noted that sugary sodas and store-bought juices with added sugar may contribute to chronic inflammation and obesity. These conditions, she says, are among the factors that increase the risk of cancer processes in the body.

In addition, fatty sauces, industrial seasonings and some ready-made dressings can pose a danger. Such products often contain trans fats, excess sugar and salt.

“The main danger is trans fats, as well as sugar and excess salt in meat products,” the expert noted.
