The Grand Prize of Formula 1 in Austria is now held. The Red Bull Ring race can be watched in LiveText format on GSP.ro, being televised by Antena 1.
Lando Norris, the pilot of McLaren, left the pole-posion, after dominating the qualifications sessions yesterday, the first line being completed by Charles Leclerc. The AA line kept the McLaren – Ferrari, Piastri and Hamilton configuration, being followed in the first ten of Lawson, Vertapen, Bortoleto, Antonelli, Gasly and Alonso.

Carlos Sainz encountered technical problems even when leaving the grid, his monopost remaining temporarily immovable. After all, he was moving, and another tense scene was held on the box line: The monopost brakes caught fire due to an overheating of the braking system on the rear axle. The incident determined the postponement of the official start of the race, and a new training tour is scheduled for 4:15 pm.
Carlos Sainz was announced by the race engineer that the monopost will be withdrawn from the race, putting an end to a terrible weekend for the Iberian.

Lando Norris, excellent in qualifications
Saturday, Lando Norris obtained a categorical pole position on Red Bull Ring, with a time of 1: 03.971, a performance that confirmed McLaren's excellent form. The British was over half a second faster than Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), ranked second, followed by Oscar Piastri (McLaren), in third place.
The Q2 session was marked by a unique incident: The grass next to the turn 10 caught fire, causing the qualifications with red flag. The break affected the rhythm of several pilots, including Max Verstappen, which ended only on the 7th place, despite the status of favorite of the local builder.
Russell, the winner of the last race, the one in Canada, will only leave the fifth position, while Antonelli, his teammate from “Silver Arrows”, is on 9, after he also checked the first career podium in the previous race.
