Saturday and Sunday are extreme heat days in Italy, where temperatures in many regions reach up to 40 degrees Celsius. For many cities, the Ministry of Health has announced the highest alarm degree.


The red alert due to hot was announced on Saturday, among others in Rome, Ancona, Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Florence, Frosinone, Milan, Naples, Palermo, Perugia, Turin, Trieste, Venice and Verona.
On Sunday, the highest rank of alarm will also apply in Catania, Civitavecchia, Rieti and Viterbo; A total of 21 out of 27 largest cities in the country.
The Ministry of Health warned that this alert means a threat to the health of the entire population, not only to the weaker, the elderly and the sick.
The ministry has published a number of tips on how to face extremely high temperatures.
First of all, it is recommended to avoid going outside at the hottest time of the day, i.e. from 11-18, as well as avoiding sports outside and drinking large amounts of water. In addition, he advises a light diet, consisting mainly of fruit and vegetables, and staying in air -conditioned rooms and public spaces.
