A mysterious Polish businessman who wants to buy Silesia Wrocław. Here's who he is


Investors interested in buying the majority of the club's shares package had time to report until May 26. Three offers were received. The value of Silesia was valued at approx. “Gazeta Wyborcza” and “Gazeta Wrocławska” determined that among the businessmen interested in taking over the club are: former footballer and former manager Robert Lewandowski Cezary Kucharski, who is to represent the investor who owns one of the English clubs. In addition, there is a Croatian company operating in the USA and a mysterious “Polish businessman living in Monaco, operating in the arms industry”, which according to “Gazeta Wrocławska” is Mariusz Iwański.

According to his profile on LinkedIn, the businessman is a graduate of master's studies at the University of Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship in Olsztyn (field of food technology and human nutrition) and post-graduate MBA studies. From May 2024, he is the head of the company Prometheus SA, which deals with the production of drones (previously he was one of its main shareholders).
As we read on LinkedIn, the company is also working on an innovative unmanned aerial vehicle (BSP) with a hybrid drive consisting of an internal combustion generator and powerbank. Prometheus SA boasts that her machines can fly up to 5 hours. non -stop. Her equipment is used by the Border Guard, territorial defense forces, fire brigade, police, but also by farmers.
Mariusz Iwański also has shares in other companies. He was also the founder of Simplicity from the IT industry, which he sold to the international company Ricoh five years ago.
“Gazeta Wrocławska” determined that the businessman “makes the best impression” of among three entities interested in buying Silesia.
“He appears personally at meetings, does not use proxies. He is to declare that he will invest his own money. This is not to be a WKS financing model by some consortia or foreign companies” – writes a regional daily.
