The British office intends to hinder children's access to adults

Pursuant to the British Act on Internet Safety, which is becoming effective this year, age verification methods must be “highly effective” in determining whether the user is less than 18 years old. According to the guidelines specified by ofCom in January, they may include open banking, checking the document with a photo or estimating the age of the face.
– Society has long been protecting young people against products that are not suitable for them, from alcohol to smoking and gambling. But For too long, the children were only one click from harmful pornography on the internet – said Oliver Griffiths on Thursday, director of ofcom for security on the Internet. – There are changes now. These age controls will adapt pornography to how we treat adult services in the real world, without exposing access and privacy of people over 18 years of age.
Research conducted by ofCom also published on Thursday showed that 8 percent Children from 8 to 14 visited the pornographic website or application Within a month, with boys aged 13 to 14 more often than girls of the same age.
Pursuant to the Act on Internet security, online pornographic services must also keep written documentation explaining how they ensure that age verification methods protect the privacy of adult users.
