Almost 7 tons of peppers from China infected with quarantine virus were brought to Krasnoyarsk

At customs in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, experts discovered two batches of peppers infected with a quarantine virus. This was told in the press service of the department.
Vegetables were brought by road from China. It turned out that 6.9 thousand kilograms of peppers are infected with the brown wrinkles of the fruit of tomato.
The virus affects peppers, tomatoes and other types of nightshade crops, causes fruit deformation – yellow, wrinkled spots appear on them, necrotic stripes appear on the stems, the leaves are deformed and covered with mosaics. The virus is safe for people, but can destroy up to 80 % of the crop of nightshade crops.
Part of the infected products had to be destroyed.
