Russia will set up a military branch dedicated to unanswered systems, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on a meeting on the State Armant Program, writes The Kyiv Independent.

“We have accumulated a vast experience to create this branch of the armed forces,” Putin said, noting that this measure includes training staff, production and modern equipment.

The announcement of the Kremlin leader comes in the context in which both Russia and Ukraine are increasingly using drones to perform attack and supervision missions. The unanswered systems have become essential for the operations on the battlefield and allow deep blows.

Ukraine has set up its own forces for unmanned systems (USF) in June 2024 to formalize and extend drone -based operations on the battlefield. Since then, the USF has launched hundreds of blows on the Russian territory, in its depth, and has worked on integrating drone technology into the fighting units.

Meanwhile, Russia has intensified the production of drones in the last year, launching waves of shahed Kamikaze drones, designed in Iran, in almost daily attacks on Ukrainian cities.

President Volodimir Zelenski said, on May 27, that Moscow intends to produce up to 500 drones a day, with Russian producers preparing to make 300-350 drones daily.

The measure announced by the Kremlin reflects the previous military reform of Kiev and signals Russia's recognition of drones as an essential pillar of the modern war, notes the cited Ukrainian publication.
