“Following the intervention of crews on the ground, the two disappeared today, 08.06.2025, in the Iojib ballast lake were found and identified. Unfortunately, the medical crews present on the spot were forced to declare their death, the probable cause being the drowning ”, said ISU Satu Mare.

Starting at 2:40 pm, firefighters from the Satu Mare Detachment have carried out a possible search mission in the Iojib Balastiera Lake.

The military firefighters from Satu Mare demanded the support of the divers from Maramureș, who started the search.

These are two young people, 18 and 20, who, most likely, have entered the bathing.

The Iojib ballast lake is frequented by the locals in the hot season, but it is not arranged for bathing, which makes such incidents not a premiere, writes the local press.
