Donald Tusk about coalition challenges: Will he get a vote of trust?


Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a request for a vote of trust in his first post -election speech. According to the constitution, within 14 days of the president's appointment by the President, the Prime Minister presents the program of the Council of Ministers to the Sejm with a request to grant it a vote of trust. The vote of trust, the Sejm adopts an absolute majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the statutory number of deputies.
The prime minister may also ask the Sejm to express a vote of trust to the Council of Ministers at any time of his office. The vote of trust then occurs on slightly different principles, because the usual majority of votes in the presence of at least half of the statutory number of deputies.
The lack of support from the Sejm for the application for a vote of trust obliges the prime minister to resign for the president.
