German Chancellor Friedrich Merz recognized the Russian-German gas pipeline as an error while exchanging sentences with Donald Trump about Nord Stream 2.
US President Donald Trump referred to the sanctions he imposed on the gas pipeline during his first term as an example that he is hard towards Russia. At one point, the German chancellor interjected that “This (nordstream) was a mistake“.
“It was a mistake. I said Angela that wait, We spend so much money to defend you against Russia, and you give Russia billions of dollars a month. What is this layout? But you said it better than anyone else” – Trump said, turning to Merz.
