Lewiatan calls Karol Nawrocki to respond to Poland's relations with the European Union

Poland needs a president who will stand on the side of development, European integration – said the President of the Confederation Lewiatan Maciej Witucki. We count on a clear declaration of support for Poland's presence in the EU; A strong, reformed EU is a guarantee of the country's economic development – he noted.


Karol Nawrocki won the presidential election, receiving 50.89 percent in the second round. votes. Rafał Trzaskowski obtained 49.11 percent – the State Electoral Commission informed on Monday.
“Today, in the face of deep social divisions, Poland even more needs the president who will connect and not divide. The president who will stand on the side of development, European integration and common values,” said Witucki. He emphasized that in the interest of all of us is stable economic development, attraction of investments, innovation and building Poland as a growth leader in Europe.
He added that this requires the leadership of the president, who will be able to cooperate above political divisions. “That is why we expect the new president to rise above party interests and will cooperate responsibly with the government in crucial matters for the future of our economy” – appealed the President of the Confederation Lewiatan.
He noted that from the perspective of the business environment, Poland's relations with the European Union and allies are of fundamental importance.
“We expect the revision of the new president's positions towards the European Union and Ukraine. We are counting on a clear declaration of support for Poland's presence in the EU” – added Witucki. He emphasized that the strong, efficient and reformed EU was a guarantee of further economic development of our country.
The President of the Confederation Lewiatan also reported that the environment of entrepreneurs also expects from the new president “unambiguous support for Ukraine” in her fight for just peace and its further integration with the European Union and NATO. According to Witucki, it is not only a matter of solidarity and values, but also the safety and stability in the region, which are the foundation of a healthy environment for business.
