Again, on the China-Us line. Beijing with a strong retort to Trump

According to CNBC, a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in the USA, Liu Pengyu, in an interview with NBC News, expressed his side's fears of Washington's actions. He noticed “US abuse of export control measures in semiconductor sector and other related practices”.
China described such actions as a blow to the foundations of economic and technological cooperation between these countries. However, it was not specified what exactly the United States took.
The background of the dispute is related to the decision of the American authorities in early May, when Huawei's imports and use of AI chips were banned by American entities. According to Beijing, this is another example of “abuse of export control” by the USA. Similar restrictions in the past forced Huawei to temporarily withdraw from the smartphone market. Today, the Chinese company is trying to rebuild forces by designing integrated circuits without the participation of American infrastructure or intellectual property.
The American administration has taken these steps, citing the need to secure national interests. From the time of the first term of Trump, the strategy of limiting China's access to key technologies was consistently implemented. Advanced integrated circuits have become a special goal, the use of which is crucial for developing technologies related to artificial intelligence, defense and digital infrastructure.
Donald Trump once again recalled these issues when on Friday morning he accused China of breaking the commercial agreement concluded on May 12. The agreement covered a 90-day tariff suspension by both parties and was achieved during the meeting in Geneva. In an interview with CNBC, the US representative, Jamieson Greer, claimed that the Chinese “slowly implement their rules”, suggesting the ineffectiveness of Beijing.
But Sanctions applied by the US are more and more noticeable, especially for such technological giants as Nvidiamanufacturer of integrated circuits for AI. The company announced that the decision of the Trump administration on a ban on sales to China to the specialized H20 system resulted in a loss of revenues of about $ 8 billion in one quarter.

The president of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, critically referred to restrictions during the financial conference, emphasizing that the assumptions regarding the impossibility of China in the production of his own AI chips are “evidently wrong”. Huang also noted that export restrictions only accelerate the development of the independent semiconductor ecosystem in China, instead of forcing them to accept American standards.
Under the influence of tensions, the US administration is preparing a new control principle that is to be simpler than the applicable rule of “AI diffusion” implemented by Biden administration. Observers expect that in the coming months technological competition between these global powers will become even more intense.
