According to CBOS, among the analyzed professions, like six years ago, the most social respect is: Firefighter (95 percent of the declaration of great respect), a nurse (91 percent) and a qualified worker (87 %).

Further places were ex aequo Górnik and an engineer working at the factory (83 percent each), a university professor (82 %), an individual farmer running a medium -sized farm (81 %), a doctor (80 %) and a teacher (79 %).

Less -valued professions include: actor (43 % of the votes of a lot of respect), journalist (42 percent), insurance agent (37 percent), internet creator and priest (34 % each), and at the end of the ranking a stock market broker (30 %), politician (17 %) and influencer (10 %).

According to CBOS, compared to the declarations in 2019, the professional image of an official or clerk in the office (+11 percentage points), director of a large enterprise (+10 points), the owner of a small store (+9 points), an unqualified building worker (+8 points), an engineer working in a factory and a cleaning worker (after +7 (after +7 points), a professional officer (+6 points) and an individual farmer on a medium farm (+5 points). However, the social reception of the journalist's work (-13 points) has worsened the most, which is the biggest change recorded during this period.

Compared to 1995, CBOS registered the largest decreases in social recognition in the case of social trust professions: journalist (-18 points), judge (-10 points), priest (-8 points) and politics (-4 points).

According to the authors of the survey, in 1995, among Poles, the intellectual competition: University professor (84 percent of the declaration of high respect), doctor (79 percent), teacher (73 percent), the only non -interviewe profession – miner (70 percent) and judge (69 %), journalist (60 %) and engineer working in factory (59 percent).

Currently, the top of the same list is: a qualified worker (87 percent), Górnik (83 percent), engineer working at the factory (83 percent), University professor (82 percent), as well as an individual farmer on a medium farm (81 percent), doctor (80 %) and teacher (79 percent).

“It is therefore possible to construct a slow decrease in respect for intellectual professions (professor, doctor, teacher, accountant, IT specialist), i.e. a decrease in the importance of education, which is particularly visible against the background of a significant promotion on the scale of social respect for other professions” – reads CBOS.
