A telephone conversation between Trump and Putin took place on May 19. According to the results of negotiations, the illegitimate president of the Russian Federation said that the aggressor country “is ready to work with the Ukrainian side on the memorandum regarding a possible future peace treaty with determining a number of positions, such as the principles of resolving, the terms of a possible conclusion of a peace agreement and a possible ceasefire.”
Trump, in turn, said that the Russian Federation and Ukraine should “immediately begin negotiations on the ceasefire and, more importantly, war.” He also stated that the tone and spirit of the conversation with Putin “were excellent.”
