A TV presenter from Russia died on the Ukraine front. Had volunteered in Putin's army

A presenter of the national television station “Sakha” in Russia, Alexei Semenov, died during a military mission in Ukraine. He had temporarily given up his career and had made the decision to volunteer on the front fight.

Known for local shows “Sakha Syre” and “Kunten Kun”the journalist of Russian origin decided to temporarily give up the television activity and voluntarily enlist in the Ukraine war. According to an announcement published on the Telegram channel of NMK (National Media Center) and quoted by dialog.ua, Alexei Semenov active under the indicative “Nec” and perform fighter missions.
“He died while carrying out a fighting mission,” specifies the message. Alexei Semenov had three children.
Semenov's death is not an isolated case. In January 2025, the Russian military correspondent Oleksandr Martemianov, a collaborator of Izvestia, was killed near Donetk.
Previously, Russian journalists who made reports for Izvestia and Zvezda media channels died during the battles on the Ukraine front. Izvestia confirmed the death of reporter Aleksandr Fedorciak, while Zvezda lost a cameraman and a driver. The press group reported from the battles in the Kupiansk or Kreminna area, where it is supposed to have been the target of a Himars missile attack.
Also, during this conflict, the author of the pro-war Telegram died and the author “Leshy's notes”, with over 20,000 followers. It had been initially disappeared, but in April his body was found and identified.
