Ukrainian reconnaissance pilots from the “Phoenix” unit, identified by their callsigns Titcher and Fazer, were preparing drone munitions when Russian forces launched artillery strikes on their position.
During a lull in the bombardment, a hungry and frightened puppy approached the border guards.
One border guard remarked, “Under such shelling, we must help the smaller animals. The poor thing was stuck with us. I think it needs help and, of course, food.”
Despite the threat to their own lives, the soldiers moved the puppy to a safer location.
