David Bușu, a 16-year-old national kayak champion, is the featured athlete in the latest edition of the GSP U21 project, which highlights young sports talents in Romania. Bușu has achieved significant success in his sport, including numerous national and international medals. This year, he broke a long-standing national record in the 1000 meters, which had remained unchallenged for over 15 years.
In a recent interview with GSP.ro reporter Carmen Dumitru, conducted by the shores of Lake Floreasca, Bușu discussed his passion for kayaking as well as his academic prowess in mathematics. He aspires to follow in the footsteps of Romania’s Olympic champion in kayaking, Vasile Dîba, and dreams of competing in the Olympics himself.
