Reports indicate that Ilya Glukhenko, a representative of the pro-Putin party ‘United Russia’, was killed after stepping on a PFM-1 mine, commonly known as a butterfly mine. The injuries sustained from the explosion were fatal.
Context
Glukhenko served on the municipal council in the occupied Kalanchak area of the Kherson region, where he was originally from. He had previously managed a meteorological station in the village of Khorly.
