The Liga 2 match between CS Afumați and Steaua has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM, and will take place at the “1 Mai” stadium in Slobozia, Ialomița. Initially, the game was set for Saturday, October 24, at the same time in Buftea.
The match cannot be held in Buftea due to police restrictions on allowing away supporters. The Buftea stadium only has one stand, which makes it impossible to accommodate fans from Ghencea alongside neutral spectators or home supporters, as reported by liga2.ro.
Additionally, due to scheduling conflicts with the Unirea Slobozia vs. Concordia Chiajna match, which is set for Saturday at 11:00 AM, the Ilfovenii decided to play against Steaua on Sunday instead.
The game will be held at the “1 Mai” arena in Slobozia, which was chosen by the management of CS Afumați as the appropriate venue.
For organizational reasons, the Romanian Football Federation has decided to change the venue for the match between CS Afumați and Steaua from the 11th round of Liga II. Initially scheduled for October 24 at 11:00 AM in Buftea, the match will now take place on Sunday, October 25, at the same time in Slobozia, at the “1 Mai” stadium.
Before this match, both teams will compete this weekend in the 10th round of Liga 2, with CS Afumați visiting the surprise team Popești-Leordeni and Steaua hosting Metaloglobus in Ghencea.
CS Afumați has had a strong start to the season, currently sitting in 6th place with 17 points, which secures a playoff spot. In contrast, Steaua has struggled, currently in 17th place with only 6 points. The “Militarii” faced a similar situation recently when their match against Poli Timișoara was played in Sibiu.
Neither team has promotion rights to the Superligă.
