Kadyrov Promoted to General Rank by Putin

Kadyrov receives general rank
Ramzan Kadyrov has been elevated to the rank of general, moving up from his previous title of army general colonel.
Russian Army General Viktor Zolotov personally awarded Kadyrov with the general insignia and the maroon beret.
Zolotov stated that it was President Putin who entrusted him with the announcement of this new rank, as reported by TASS.
This promotion makes Kadyrov the first Chechen to hold the title of general in history.
In Russia, the general rank is effectively the highest military title, as the rank of marshal has not been awarded since 1997, according to Russian publication Astra.
