The Polish Ministry of Defense has issued a warning regarding the increasing number of false and manipulated information related to mobilization cards circulating online. In a statement shared on platform X, the ministry emphasized the importance of caution and urged individuals not to share unverified content.
Mobilization assignments are not a new procedure; they have been part of the national defense system for many years. The Military Recruitment Centers maintain records of individuals obligated to defend the country and issue assignments based on the needs of the Polish Armed Forces. The ministry clarified that such actions do not mean a general mobilization or mass conscription of citizens into military service.
Additionally, the ministry has highlighted the emergence of fabricated imagery, reportedly generated by AI, purporting to show mobilization cards. To combat misinformation, the Ministry of Defense advises those uncertain about the authenticity of a document to contact their local Military Recruitment Center for verification. They stress the importance of consulting official sources to avoid falling victim to disinformation.
In Poland, recruitment for military service begins with an application submitted through the “Become a Soldier” portal or in person at the Military Recruitment Center. Following the application, candidates undergo medical and psychological examinations, as well as an interview. Upon successfully completing these steps, volunteers are directed to basic training as part of voluntary military service. After completing training and taking an oath, they may apply for professional military service or join the Territorial Defense Forces.
Mobilization assignments specifically pertain to active and reserve soldiers, officially designating individuals for service positions in the event of mobilization or war declaration. Notifications of such assignments are communicated via mobilization cards, which require holders to report to specified locations at designated times following the announcement of mobilization or receipt of a summons.
