PESA Polish hydrogen locomotive is an attraction of the fair in Stockholm

The Polish PESA hydrogen locomotive is a distinctive attraction at the Train & Rail international rail transport fair in Stoin in the International Rail Transport Fair in Stockholm. One of the Swedish companies wants to buy 25 pieces to give up burdensome combustion machines.

At the transhipment terminal in the Arsta district, you can admire the maneuvering locomotive of PESA from close, and even ride it with a driver. Competitors present models or show their vehicles on monitors in the market hall. The locomotive arrived by the Polonia Unity Line ferry from Świnoujście to Ystad.

As Maciej Grześkowiak, director of strategic projects of PESA, passed on PAP, the locomotive is not only ecological thanks to the use of hydrogen technology, but also extremely quiet, including for a driver. In addition, hydrogen in Sweden is cheaper than in Poland. “The parameters of our locomotive are better than combustion,” emphasized Grześkowiak

The Vaete Rail company plans to purchase 25 Pesa locomotives in Swedish ports to carry out the mission of zero -emission by 2030. “We believe that this will also help us in gaining new contracts,” emphasized the representative of Vaete Rail, Ewa Forslund.

Vaete Rail at his stand at the fair boasts cooperation with a Polish company, which arouses the interest of visitors.

In the case of transhipment terminals, where there are a lot of tracks and cranes in parallel, the use of electric traction is not possible.

In the coming days, Pesa Locomotive (professional name SM42-6DN) will also visit several other Swedish towns, where it will be made available to potential customers. At the fair in Stockholm will be presented until Thursday.
