The Energy Regulatory Office tries to prepare for two scenarios for conducting an offshore auction on December 17: with the new law and the second, when the amendment to promote the production of electricity in sea wind farms will not be able to enter into force before the auction – said the director of the Renewable Source Department in Katowice in Katowice in Katowice, Radosław Walaszczyk.

“We are under more pressure of time, more and more market pressure, because (decreases – PAP) this margin between the upcoming first offshor auction, i.e. December 17, and a possible entry into force, for which we keep our fingers crossed, amendment to UD162” – he said about his department at Ure Walaszczyk.
He added that it is difficult to predict whether the law would come into force before the auction, because its first reading in the Sejm is foreseen on October 7, and the act must be signed by the president.
“In this difficult regulatory environment, we must stand up to the challenge (…). We try to prepare for both scenarios, i.e. for a scenario in which we will have to conduct auction based on current regulations and on the script much better, which promises much better when it comes to the effectiveness of this first auction, also in terms of supply of projects and a number of other issues, i.e. on the scenario, when the first auction comes in Amendment to the Offshor Act, “said the director at the Energy Regulatory Office.
Among the amendments important for the auction, he mentioned, among others Exemption of the President of the Energy Regulatory Office from the obligation to verify the status of projects a month before the date of the start of the auction and enabling the division of the project within one area.
Walaszczyk announced a possible workshop for potential auction beneficiaries, i.e. investors of wind farms at sea, in 2-3 weeks. (PAP Biznes)
