An in-depth analysis has assessed the repercussions of the recent successful attack on Novorossiysk, a key base for the Russian Navy. The strike likely affected several vessels, including the Project 11356R frigate “Admiral Makarov,” which sustained damage around the missile launch systems of the “Kalibr” missiles and its rear superstructure’s radar systems. Another vessel, the Project 11356R frigate “Admiral Essen,” also suffered damage at its “Kalibr” missile launch area. Each frigate is equipped with eight launch cells.
Additionally, a Project 266M minesweeper and a research vessel, Project 20360 OS “Viktor Cherokov,” were presumably targeted. A patrol ship from Project 22160 remains unidentified, while the Project 864 reconnaissance ship “Priazov’ye” possibly experienced damage to its stern; however, assessing the extent of this damage from available imagery is challenging. An unidentified bulk carrier was also hit during the attack.
On land, several strikes were recorded on the infrastructure of the 4th submarine brigade. At the oil export terminal “Sheskharis,” damage was noted at the main berths, particularly berth number one, which services large Aframax and Suezmax class tankers. A tanker of the Aframax class was likely attacked while being loaded.
Furthermore, the grain and fuel terminals of NKHP showed significant damage, with numerous strikes impacting grain storage facilities and transportation infrastructure, including elevators.
