11 January 15:27

In the Kemerovo region, tourists were poisoned during the New Year holidays in a popular bar in Sheregesh, reports VSE42.RU.

Users wrote about the situation on social networks. They said that on January 3 and 4 they ate at the Grelka bar, and then they felt bad all night.

“Good afternoon!!! Thank you to the establishment for the good holidays, we cleaned our body wonderfully!!! It was shaking for 2 days!!! Lots of emotions!!!” — visitors share their impressions.

At first, the bar staff answered tourists that the establishment strictly followed all sanitary rules. But later the management of the establishment announced the suspension of the bar.

“GRELKA is temporarily suspending operations. We see requests from guests and take them as seriously as possible. It was decided to suspend the operation of the bar for at least 7 days in order to carry out preventive measures and additional checks,” representatives of the establishment reported on social networks.

Several departments began checking the potential poisoning: the Investigative Committee, Rospotrebnadzor and the Kuzbass prosecutor's office. Thus, the Investigative Committee officers began a pre-investigation check under Part 1 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life or health of consumers).

“During the investigation, investigators together with employees of Rospotrebnadzor will analyze the organization of the institution’s work in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements, remove the necessary samples, and carry out other verification activities aimed at establishing the causes and circumstances of the incident,” reports the press service of the Investigative Committee.

Rospotrebnadzor of Kuzbass has already published the results of the investigation into the mass poisoning. Two cases of intestinal infection have been identified – norovirus genotype 2.

“During a laboratory examination of the cafe staff, the same pathogen was detected in 4 workers. The employees have been suspended from work with immediate effect. The department has organized a full range of anti-epidemic measures. There were no other calls for medical help related to the Grelka cafe-bar. During the epidemiological investigation, Department specialists identified violations of sanitary and epidemiological requirements in the cafe’s catering unit,” the department reports.
