Ukrainian Company Develops Armored Capsule for Frontline Positions

The Ukrainian company PARABELLA has launched an armored capsule intended for establishing fortified positions directly on the front lines.
This capsule is constructed from triple-layered armored steel, 16 millimeters thick, and features metal screens to protect soldiers from shells. The interior can accommodate up to 10 armed soldiers at once.
The armored system provides complete protection and a 360-degree view for monitoring the surrounding area, according to the Ukrainian defense website Militarnyi.
The specifications of the armored capsule were analyzed at the Eurosatory international exhibition held in Paris from June 15 to 19.
Similar engineering solutions have been conceptualized since the Soviet era, when prefabricated metal structures were developed for the rapid construction of machine gun nests and command and observation posts.
Notable equivalents of this type of bunker include Soviet models BUK and VSB, which are armored capsules that allow for firing from inside, as well as SPS, a prefabricated structure for machine guns.
Similar fortifications, known as MVS-2, were also built during the defense efforts of the port city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region.
