Two-in-one dumplings: I put these ingredients into the dough and it turns out to be real culinary magic.

Classic dumplings with only meat are, of course, delicious, but sometimes you want something unusual, very filling and interesting. A recipe for double stuffed dumplings comes to the rescue, where juicy minced meat meets tender mashed potatoes. As the author of the community in VK “Home Recipes” (18+) said, such a non-standard combination completely changes the usual taste of a familiar dish, making it softer and surprisingly juicy.

The secret to the perfect dough

For perfect dumplings you need elastic and elastic dough. Mix 300 grams of flour with a teaspoon of salt, add one egg and gradually pour in 150 milliliters of water. Knead until smooth.

The dough must be allowed to rest under a towel for at least 20 minutes. During this time, the gluten will swell and the mass will become pliable and will not tear when rolled out thin.

We prepare two different fillings

While the dough is resting, start filling.

  • Meat part: take 300 grams of any minced meat, finely chop one onion, add salt and pepper.
  • Boil 4-5 potatoes and make the usual mashed potatoes, adding 50 grams of butter to it for tenderness.

The mashed potatoes should not be hot, otherwise it will melt the dough during modeling and the filling will leak out. Be sure to cool both fillings to room temperature.

Step-by-step process of sculpting and cooking

To make the dish neat and juicy, follow this plan:

  • Roll out the dough into a thin layer about 2 millimeters and cut out circles with a diameter of 8-10 cm using a glass.
  • Place 1 teaspoon of cooled mashed potatoes and 1 teaspoon of minced meat on each circle, placing them on opposite sides of the center.
  • Carefully fold the circle in half and pinch the edges very tightly, forming a classic dumpling so that the juice does not leak out during cooking.
  • Drop the dumplings into boiling salted water one at a time. Cook for 8-10 minutes after they float to the surface.
