2 handfuls per hole – and the cabbage grows strong, without holes: I use simple means – all the neighbors are jealous of the harvest

Not only people adore cabbage, but also a lot of insects. White moth, cutworm, flea beetle, and at night also slugs with caterpillars – without protection, cabbage heads turn into a sieve. To preserve the harvest, it is necessary to protect the heads of cabbage from pests.

Super pest repellent

Caterpillars can't stand it baking soda, and winged pests – bitter mustard. Mix them and spray on the leaves as soon as you notice the first holes. Repeat several times per season. Chemistry will no longer be needed.

What not to do

Chemicals and poisonous herbs are bad helpers for cabbage,” noted agronomist Ksenia Davydova.

It will not be possible to completely wash them off the head of cabbage, and all the poison will end up on your table. Biological products: “Bikol”, “Nemabakt” are safe for humans, but they should not be abused: they disrupt the soil microflora and stop working after the first watering.

Mechanical protection

If there are too many insects, throw a fine mesh over the beds. It does not interfere with watering, protects from butterflies and birds, and allows the seedlings to grow stronger. The net will not save you from small fleas, but as part of the system it will do.

Personal experience

For several years in a row I was left without normal cabbage – just holes. I read about this method. When the first holes appeared, I sprayed soda and mustard. Two days later the pests were gone, and the heads of cabbage grew to be a sight to behold. Now I do this every year and recommend it to my neighbors.
