The Household appliances Congress in Łódź, for which the organization is responsible for the Łódź Special Economic Zone (ŁSSE) and the APPLIA Household appliances Employers Association is the largest business meeting of the industry in Europe. As every year, representatives of the world's largest household equipment, distributors, sub -depators and representatives of local government and government came to Łse. During the two -day event started on Thursday, its participants take part in discussion panels, business talks and shows.

“We have gathered a full representation of the household appliances industry, as well as sub -suppliers and expert.

The head of the Application Employers Association APPLIA Polska Wojciech Konecki added that this is the only event in Poland at which all household appliances manufacturers operating in the country, as well as distributors, suppliers and sub -suppliers, recycling companies, experts. “We are talking about the most important aspects in our industry. This year among the main topics are: artificial intelligence, environment, climate, competitiveness and deregulation,” he announced.

Congress participants emphasized that the household appliance industry is one of the key specializations of the Polish economy.

Global companies from this sector have 35 factories in Poland, of which in 2024 more than 26 million of equipment left – like 2023 and 30 percent. less than in the record in terms of production of 2021. Entrepreneurs pointed out that in the previous year the household appliance industry faced many challenges, such as the difficult geopolitical situation, problems on real estate markets, high interest rates, high energy and transport costs. The last months, however, have brought increases in the sales of household appliances and the market has returned to the path of moderate growth.

“The condition of the household appliances industry in Poland is still good. We hope that the next years, after the reflection of sales after pocovid slowdown, will give us a chance for a calm and stable development in subsequent years. Poland is still an attractive country for the development of the household appliances industry. However, we cannot allow ourselves to lose competitive advantages, which in the last three decades decided about our successes” – emphasized the president of BSH. Konrad Pokutycki.

He pointed out that among the biggest challenges facing the industry and its further development is the Polish labor market, where employees are missing. For this – he added – demographic forecasts sound very pessimistic, which predict a significant number of working people from year to year.

“That is why a wise migration policy is very much needed, which will allow more people to come to Poland who want to work here. This policy must be wise and strengthen the Polish labor market. With the current level of unemployment in Poland, there is no chance for further rapid development. Migration activities must of course be managed, of course, with demographics, where the fish will be lost from the current number of 17 million working, we must do. Everything to equalize this state to foreigners who bring tens of billions of zlotys to the Polish state budget, “he argued.

Experts pointed out that the household appliances industry in Poland is currently particularly vulnerable to employee deficit. Despite the location of most factories in large cities or near them, the company struggles with a lack of employees, both production and qualified specialists in many fields in shared services and research and development centers (R&D).

Pokutycki assured that, despite difficult circumstances, a high level of investment is maintained. Every year, our industry allocates over PLN 1 billion for this purpose, and over the last eight years over PLN 12 billion. The investments relate to both modern production lines as well as digitization and automation of production processes, as well as research centers and development, business solutions, industry 4.0. Thanks to this, new innovations are constantly introducing in the new equipment, including Climate and health problems using artificial intelligence, or allowing quick diagnosis of devices remotely.

Poland remains a leader in household appliances in Europe. Over 36 percent are produced in the country in the country. large household appliances manufactured throughout the EU. Over 90 percent Polish household appliances production goes to export, mostly to EU countries.
