“I squandered it all in the casino.” The Russian swindler ingratiated herself with Rotaru and scammed her out of money

The former concert director of the Ukrainian singer Sofia Rotaru, Igor Kuryliv, in an interview with Glavkom, told how the Russian swindler Olga Konyakhina appeared in her circle and “cheated” the artist out of money. The text of the conversation was published on the publication’s website on June 8.

“Tell us about the high-profile story with the Russian woman Olga Konyakhina, who financially framed Rotaru and was convicted. Did she work as concert director of Sofia Rotaru after you?” – they asked Kuryliv.

“She still worked with me, I knew her well. I didn’t really want to go on tour then, because I was already exhausted. Imagine: I suffered a heart attack, recovered, and we fly from Kyiv to Norilsk. It’s September, we were still wearing T-shirts, and when we arrive there, it’s snowing so much, the trees are already without leaves. Because of this drop, my blood pressure immediately jumped up. I say: “Sonya, I’m going to quit, because Otherwise you will bring me home in a box. And I still want to live a little,” he said.

According to Kuryliv, Konyakhina, before starting to work with Rotaru, distributed advertising and posters.

“So she ran after me: “Igorechek, take me to you, I ask you. I will do whatever you say.” Well, I hired her to help. When I was gradually “going to the piano,” Konyakhina began touring. And it began: “Oh, Igor Vladimirovich, it was so pleasant to deal with you, but it’s impossible to work with this one.”

According to the ex-director of Rotaru, Konyakhina indicated expensive alcohol in the Rotaru rider, which she herself drank.

“Once Sonya calls me from Moscow and says: “Igor, there’s such a problem here. Olga's money was stolen. She says that they approached the car, the window was open, and snatched the bag.” I flew to Moscow, came to Konyakhina and said: “I give you exactly an hour so that all the money is in place. Otherwise I will find where, what and how. And this will be your swan song. “An hour later Sonya had the money,” he described the conflict.

The singer’s ex-director noted that Konyakhina once sold concerts to Rotaru for a whole year in advance without informing him.

“I took the money and squandered it all in the casino. Konyakhina was imprisoned for six years. Concert obligations were not fulfilled. I don’t know how much compensation they charged her. I didn’t interfere there anymore, although they called me all the time to help me return the money in some way,” he noted.
