The US attacked Iran. This is a response to the shooting of the helicopter

“U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces began conducting self-defense strikes against Iran (…) in response to the downing of a U.S. Apache helicopter,” we read in the U.S. military's post.
As indicated in the statement, “the mission is a proportionate response to Iran's unjustified aggression.” After about four hours, it was announced that the attacks had ended.
“CENTCOM forces attacked Iranian air defenses, ground control stations and surveillance radar stations near the Strait of Hormuz using precision-guided munitions fired by U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy fighters,” we read.
Trump: The answer will be decisive
Earlier, Donald Trump spoke. — I think this is very important to answer. They shot down a helicopter and we're responding to it right now,” Trump told ABC News.
— This is a reaction to what they did to our helicopter last night. I believe that the response should be very decisive, very strong, and that is exactly what it is, added the president.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi posted an entry. “Despite defeats on the battlefield, the United States has chosen to test our resolve. Our armed forces will not leave any attack or threat unanswered. Leave our region if you want to be safe.”
The US was supposed to be close to an agreement with Iran. There was an incident with a helicopter
It was the first Apache helicopter lost in the US-Israeli war against Iran, which has been ongoing since late February. So far, the American military has lost about 30 unmanned aerial vehicles and several fighter jets.
On Monday night, Trump, commenting on the still unexplained helicopter crash, argued that he was very close to an agreement with Iran. He estimated that this could happen within two or three days.
