Wage growth in Poland and Donald Tusk's reaction
For many years the situation looked completely different. Although salaries in Polish zlotys were increasing, the weakening exchange rate of the national currency meant that when converted into euros we were actually stagnating. Only the current decade has brought a breakthrough and making up for the distance with the West.
Pekao economists, however, cool down premature enthusiasm by publishing a significant question: “This is the chart of the decade – I guess that's right?” Experts bluntly point out that this coin has two sides.
“This generates both winners and losers. Wages in euro are a measure of our cost competitiveness, and their sudden increase explains many phenomena and trends in recent years, from the problems of many industries to the end of the boom in outsourcing services to Poland,” says the economists' entry on the X platform.

The head of government, Donald Tusk, reacted immediately to such revelations. The Prime Minister published the above-mentioned summary on the X platform, confirming it with a short comment. “Wage increase. That's why we rule“- wrote the Prime Minister.
