Policeman from Neamț, fatally stabbed by his own son. The tragedy happened in the middle of the street

A 50-year-old policeman, an employee of the Community Public Service Driving License and Vehicle Registration Regime (SPCRPCIV) Neamț, was killed on Monday evening after being stabbed by his own 22-year-old son. The tragedy happened on Mihail Eminescu Boulevard in Piatra-Neamț.

According to the information sent by the Neamț County Police Inspectorate,
The incident took place around 20:59, amid a spontaneous conflict between the two, according to the information provided by the Neamț County Police Inspectorate, quoted by the local publication Mesagerul Neamț.
“On June 1 this year, around 8:59 p.m., the policemen from the Piatra-Neamt Municipality Police were alerted to the fact that, amid a spontaneous conflict, a 50-year-old man, a policeman in the Neamt SPCRPIV, while he was on Mihail Eminescu Boulevard, in the Piatra-Neamt Municipality, was stabbed with a knife by his son, aged 22”IPJ Neamț sent.
A crew of the Neamț County Ambulance Service intervened at the scene, but the doctors could no longer save the victim.
“A crew from the Neamţ County Ambulance Service came to the scene and declared the man dead”stated the policemen.
Witnesses reported that the victim was stabbed several times before emergency crews arrived.
The 22-year-old, suspected of killing his father, was immobilized and taken for questioning. He is in the custody of the police, and legal measures will be ordered depending on the conclusions of the investigation.
The investigations were taken over by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Neamț Court, which is to establish the exact circumstances in which the tragedy occurred.
Investigators are trying to find out what sparked the conflict between the two and if there were previous tensions in the family. Also, witness statements and evidence taken from the crime scene will be analyzed.
The case shocked the community of Piatra-Neamț, where the victim was known as a policeman in the license and registration service.
